Student (outbound) programs
In order to develop outstanding creative talent with wide horizons, HEU has developed diversified study-abroad programs to expand students' school experience, including a dual degree program, united training program, foreign degree program, practicum project and short-term project. Students who are able to participate in international communication projects can broaden their horizons and gain an enhanced concept of the world, allowing them to understand diversity of culture, information, customs, and social habits of other countries. Thus, they can improve their abilities of international conversation and show superior ability in international competition. HEU is looking forward to cooperating with an increasing number of colleges, universities and academic institutions in educating students.

Scholarship
HEU funds scholarships for students in various stages to encourage excellent students to take part in international communication activities or to go abroad to pursue advanced studies. Furthermore, donations from overseas enterprises and interested individuals from all walks of life help students to attain a high level of development. HEU looks forward to the continuing support of society and hopes that a rising number of students can take part in interntional activities.
1. Harbin Engineering University Undergraduate Scholarship for International Exchange
This scholarship is applied to full-time undergraduate students (excluding the College of International Cooperation) for their study in other high-level international universities and their short-term international academic exchange activities.

2. Harbin Engineering University Postgraduate Scholarship for International Exchange
This scholorship is designed to encourge graduates to participate in top-ranking international academic meetings and academic exchange in top universities overseas. It aims to fund the graduates who gain a National Excellent Doctor degree (or are nominated), provincial Excellent Graduates, or those who successfully apply for goverment supported graduate programs.The funding is focused on high-level international meetings and short-term international academic exchange.

3. China Scholarship Council (CSC) scholarships
Top Chinese PhD students are encouraged to study at top ranked overseas universities through a scholarship program developed by the China Scholarship Council (CSC).
The program aims to foster long-term research cooperation between Chinese universities and overseas universities. Students who receive a scholarship are provided with a living allowance as prescribed by the Chinese government for the term of the scholarship, return airfare to the overseas universities by the most economical route, student visa fees, and the cost of Overseas Student Health Coverage.
